MMPRC Opens Applications for Dhivehi Ambassadors to Promote Maldivian Culture
The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has launched a new initiative inviting passionate and creative Maldivians to step forward as cultural ambassadors in a global tourism campaign. The program seeks to spotlight the Maldives' rich heritage, artistic talent, and vibrant cultural identity through the voices and work of local artists and artisans.
Showcasing the Maldives Beyond Its Beaches
While the Maldives is world-renowned for its turquoise waters and luxury resorts, MMPRC's latest project aims to broaden the narrative. The initiative will focus on sharing the depth of the country's cultural roots, traditional artistry, and creative excellence with the rest of the world.
By introducing local ambassadors under the title Visit Maldives Dhivehi Ambassadors, MMPRC hopes to create more meaningful global engagement with Maldivian culture, inspiring a deeper appreciation beyond the natural beauty of the islands.
A Platform for Local Artists and Artisans
One of the core goals of the program is to provide Maldivian creatives with international exposure. MMPRC envisions this as an opportunity for local talents — from craftsmen and musicians to designers and storytellers — to collaborate with global partners, promote their craft, and represent what it truly means to be Maldivian.
The selected ambassadors will participate in events, exhibitions, and campaigns that highlight the essence of Maldivian life, whether it’s through traditional crafts, contemporary art, or cultural storytelling.
How to Apply
MMPRC is calling on interested individuals, especially artists and cultural advocates, to apply for this unique opportunity. Applicants are encouraged to prepare a detailed proposal that outlines their vision for promoting the Maldives through their creative work.
Along with their proposal, applicants must submit a curriculum vitae (CV) and portfolio showcasing their relevant experience. All submissions should be emailed to proposals@visitmaldives.com.
Promoting the Sunny Side of Life
This campaign is part of MMPRC’s broader strategy to diversify the Maldives’ global image and support local talent in the tourism industry. By connecting culture with tourism, the project seeks to enrich the visitor experience while uplifting Maldivians whose stories, skills, and heritage deserve international recognition.
With applications now open, MMPRC encourages creatives across the country to bring forward their passion and ideas. It’s not just about promoting a destination — it’s about sharing the soul of the Maldives with the world.
