Leaked Email Mentions Meeting Between Epstein and Former Maldivian President

A newly leaked email has raised questions about a possible meeting between Jeffrey Epstein and a former president of the Maldives. The document, dated April 28, 2014, was revealed among a series of hacked email exchanges involving Epstein and former Israeli President Ehud Barak.

The email mentions a “former Maldivian President” in connection to a scheduled meeting. However, it does not specify which Maldivian leader was being referred to, nor does it confirm whether the meeting ever took place.

Three Former Presidents at the Time

By April 2014, the Maldives had three living former presidents: Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, Mohamed Nasheed, and Mohamed Waheed. The leaked correspondence has sparked speculation about which leader might have been involved.

On social media platform X, some users tried to piece together the puzzle by reviewing records from that period. One post suggested that former President Maumoon was in Sri Lanka at the time, while Mohamed Nasheed was reportedly in the Maldives. Nasheed himself reposted this claim, though no direct evidence has yet surfaced linking him or any of the former presidents to a meeting with Epstein.

A Controversial List and Wider Leaks

The hacked emails come at a time when global attention is once again turning toward Epstein’s connections. A controversial list of people alleged to have visited Epstein’s homes and private properties in New York and elsewhere has been circulating online, fueling renewed debate over the extent of his influence.

Epstein, a wealthy financier with powerful ties across politics, business, and entertainment, was first arrested in 2005 on charges of sexually abusing minors. Despite serving time, he maintained his social network until he was rearrested in 2019 on federal sex trafficking charges. He died in prison on August 10, 2019, in what was ruled a suicide.

Epstein’s longtime associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, was later convicted of recruiting and grooming young girls for him. She is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence in the United States.

Questions Remain

The mention of a Maldivian president in Epstein’s correspondence has left more questions than answers. With no confirmation of who the email referred to or whether the meeting ever occurred, the issue remains open to speculation. What is clear is that Epstein’s web of connections continues to cast shadows far beyond the United States, drawing in figures from across the world, including the Maldives.
