Bank of Maldives (BML) has officially launched an ATM service in Kalaidhoo, marking the completion of its ATM network across all residential islands in Laamu Atoll. This milestone ensures that residents across the atoll now have easier access to essential banking services.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, members of the cabinet, BML Chairperson Ahmed Ali Habeeb, CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef, and senior officials from the bank. Their presence underscored the significance of the initiative in supporting financial inclusion for remote communities.
During the event, CEO Mohamed Shareef emphasized that the ATM rollout is part of BML’s broader “ATMs for the Whole Country” initiative. The program aims to ensure residents of every inhabited island have convenient access to banking services, bridging gaps between urban centers and remote communities.
“ATMs are more than just machines; they are a vital link that connects communities to the formal banking system,” Shareef said. He also highlighted BML’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its digital offerings, ensuring residents can benefit from both physical and online banking services.
Currently, BML operates 42 branches, 200 self-service banking centres, and 258 ATMs nationwide. Alongside these facilities, the bank provides advanced online banking services across 20 atolls, reinforcing its position as the Maldives’ leading provider of accessible and reliable financial services.

މި ޚިދުމަތް އިފްތިތާޙުކުރުމަށް ކަލައިދޫގައި ބޭއްވި ރަސްމިއްޔާތުގައި ރައީސުލްޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާ ޑރ. މުޙައްމަދު މުޢިއްޒު އާއި، ކެބިނެޓް މިނިސްޓަރުން، އަދި ބީއެމްއެލްގެ ޗެއަރޕާސަން އަޙްމަދު ޢަލީ ޙަބީބާއި، ސީއީއޯ އަދި މެނޭޖިންގ ޑައިރެކްޓަރ މުޙައްމަދު ޝަރީފްގެ އިތުރުން އެ ބޭންކުގެ އިސްވެރިން ބައިވެރިވެވަޑައިގެންނެވިއެވެ.

ރަސްމިއްޔާތުގައި ވާހަކަދައްކަވަމުން ބީއެމްއެލްގެ ސީއީއޯ މުޙައްމަދު ޝަރީފް ވިދާޅުވީ، މި މަސައްކަތަކީ "ހުރިހާ ރަށަކަށް އޭޓީއެމް" ގެ ނަމުގައި ބީއެމްއެލްއިން ކުރިއަށް ގެންދާ މަޝްރޫޢުގެ ބައެއް ކަމަށާއި، އޭގެ މަޤްޞަދަކީ ރާއްޖޭގެ ހުރިހާ ރަށެއްގެ ރައްޔިތުންނަށް ބޭންކިންގ ޚިދުމަތް ލިބޭނެ މަގު ފަހިކުރުން ކަމަށެވެ.
އޭނާ ފާހަގަކުރެއްވި ގޮތުގައި، އޭޓީއެމް ޚިދުމަތްތަކަކީ ރަށްރަށުގެ މުޖުތަމަޢުތައް ބޭންކިންގ ނިޒާމުގެ ތެރެއަށް ވެއްދުމަށް ވަރަށް މުހިންމު ދައުރެއް އަދާކުރާ ޚިދުމަތެކެވެ. މީގެ އިތުރުން، ޑިޖިޓަލް ޚިދުމަތްތައް އިތުރަށް ފުޅާކޮށް ހަރުދަނާ ކުރުމަށް ބީއެމްއެލްއިން ކުރަމުންދާ މަސައްކަތްތަކުގެ މައްޗަށް ވެސް އަލިއަޅުވާލެއްވިއެވެ.

މިހާރު ބީއެމްއެލްއިން ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ 20 އަތޮޅުގައި 42 ބްރާންޗާއި، 200 ސެލްފް-ސަރވިސް ބޭންކިންގ ސެންޓަރާއި، 258 އޭޓީއެމް މެދުވެރިކޮށް ޚިދުމަތް ދެމުން އަންނައިރު، އޮންލައިންކޮށް ވެސް ވަރަށް ފުޅާ ދާއިރާއެއްގައި ޚިދުމަތް ފޯރުކޮށްދެމުން އެބަގެންދެއެވެ.
