The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has officially opened applications for its Research Fund, offering grants for independent and collaborative research projects, as well as book grants, totaling MVR 1 million.
The initiative aims to identify key economic, financial, and developmental challenges facing the Maldives, while fostering innovative policy solutions through rigorous analytical research.
“Our goal is to bring together policymakers, academics, and researchers to explore national financial and economic issues,” the central bank stated.
Who Can Apply
The Research Fund is open to individuals, academics, think tanks, and experienced researchers who wish to collaborate with MMA staff.

Independent research grants: Team leaders must hold at least a master’s degree, while applicants with a PhD are strongly encouraged to apply.

Collaborative research grants: These support projects carried out jointly with MMA staff and align with the central bank’s strategic objectives.

Book grants: Open to individuals or teams with prior publications or equivalent experience, manuscripts can be in Dhivehi or English. Priority will be given to works promoting financial literacy, public understanding of the economy, or research on fiscal policy.
Eligible Research Areas

Selected proposals will receive financial support covering expenses such as data collection, fieldwork, research assistance, and publication. Completed studies will undergo peer review, and researchers will have the opportunity to present their findings at the MMA Research Conference.
This platform provides not only funding but also a chance to influence policy-making and contribute meaningfully to the Maldives’ economic landscape.
Interested applicants must submit their proposals by 30 October 2025, with selected researchers set to be announced by 9 November 2025.
މޯލްޑިވްސް މަނިޓަރީ އޮތޯރިޓީ (އެމްއެމްއޭ) އިން އެ ބޭންކުގެ ރިސާޗް ފަންޑަށް (ދިރާސާ ފަންޑަށް) އެދި ހުށަހެޅުމުގެ ފުރުޞަތު ހުޅުވައިފިއެވެ. މި ފަންޑުގެ ދަށުން މިނިވަން ދިރާސާ، ގުޅިގެން ކުރާ ދިރާސާ އަދި ފޮތް ލިޔުމުގެ ގްރާންޓުތަކަށް ޖުމްލަ އެއް މިލިއަން ރުފިޔާގެ އެހީތެރިކަން ދިނުމަށް ވަނީ ހަމަޖައްސާފައެވެ.
ފަންޑުގެ މަޤްޞަދު:
ރާއްޖޭގެ މަރުކަޒީ ބޭންކުން ބުނެފައިވާ ގޮތުގައި މި އިސްނެގުމުގެ މަޤްޞަދަކީ، ތަޙުލީލީ ދިރާސާތަކުގެ ޒަރީއާއިން ރާއްޖެއަށް ކުރިމަތިވެފައިވާ އިޤްތިޞާދީ، މާލީ އަދި ތަރައްޤީގެ މައިގަނޑު ގޮންޖެހުންތައް ދެނެގަނެ، އެކަމަށް ޙައްލު ހޯދައިދެނިވި އައު ސިޔާސަތުތަކަށް އެހީތެރިކަން ދިނުމެވެ.
އެމްއެމްއޭގެ މި ފަންޑުގެ އަމާޒަކީ، ޤައުމީ މާލީ އަދި އިޤްތިޞާދީ މައްސަލަތަކަށް ޙައްލު ހޯދުމަށް ސިޔާސަތުތައް އެކުލަވާލާ ފަރާތްތަކާއި، އެކެޑެމިކުން އަދި ދިރާސާވެރިން އެއްކޮށްލުމެވެ.
އެދި ހުށަހެޅުމުގެ ފުރުޞަތު:
މި ފުރުޞަތު ހުޅުވާލާފައިވަނީ އެކަހެރި ފަރުދުންނާއި، އެކެޑެމިކުންނާއި، 'ތިންކް ޓޭންކް'ތަކުގެ އިތުރުން، އެމްއެމްއޭގެ މުވައްޒަފުންނާ އެކު ގުޅިގެން މަސައްކަތްކުރުމަށް ޝައުޤުވެރިވާ ތަޖުރިބާކާރު ދިރާސާވެރިންނަށެވެ.
- މިނިވަން ދިރާސާ: މިނިވަން ދިރާސާ ގްރާންޓަށް އެދި ހުށަހަޅާ ޓީމުތަކުގެ ލީޑަރުން މަދުވެގެން މާސްޓާރސް ޑިގްރީއެއް ޙާޞިލުކޮށްފައިވުމަށް އެދެއެވެ. ޕީއެޗްޑީ ޙާޞިލުކޮށްފައިވާ ފަރާތްތަކަށް ހުށަހެޅުމަށް ބާރުއަޅާކަމަށް އެމްއެމްއޭއިން ބުނެއެވެ.
- ގުޅިގެން ކުރާ ދިރާސާ: މި ގްރާންޓުން އެހީތެރިކަން ދޭނީ އެމްއެމްއޭގެ މުވައްޒަފުންނާ ގުޅިގެން ކުރާ، އަދި އެ އިދާރާގެ ސްޓްރެޓީޖިކް އަމާޒުތަކާ އެއްގޮތްވާ މަޝްރޫޢުތަކަށެވެ.
- ފޮތް ލިޔުމުގެ ގްރާންޓް: މި ގްރާންޓު ހުޅުވާލާފައިވަނީ މީގެ ކުރިން ފޮތް ޝާއިޢުކޮށްފައިވާ ނުވަތަ އެ ފެންވަރަށް ތަޖުރިބާ ލިބިފައިވާ ފަރުދުންނަށާއި ޓީމުތަކަށެވެ. ފޮތުގެ މަސައްކަތް ދިވެހި ނުވަތަ އިނގިރޭސި ބަހުން ވެސް ލިޔެވިދާނެއެވެ. އެހެންނަމަވެސް، މާލީ ޢިލްމު ކުރިއެރުވުމާއި، ޢާންމުންނަށް އިޤްތިޞާދު ދެނެގަތުމަށް މަގުފަހިކުރުން ނުވަތަ މާލީ ސިޔާސަތާ ގުޅޭ ދިރާސާތަކަށް އިސްކަންދެވޭނެއެވެ.
ދިރާސާގެ މުހިންމު ދާއިރާތައް:
ފަންޑު ލިބޭނެ ދިރާސާގެ މައިގަނޑު ދާއިރާތަކުގެ ތެރޭގައި މެކްރޯ އިޤްތިޞާދީ ހަމަޖެހުން، ފައިސާގެ ސިޔާސަތު، މާލީ ދެމެހެއްޓުން، މޫސުމާއި ދެމެހެއްޓެނިވި ތަރައްޤީ، ޑިޖިޓަލް މާލީ ޚިދުމަތާއި އިންކްލޫޒަން، އިސްލާމިކް ފައިނޭންސް، ތަޢުލީމު އަދި ވަޒީފާ ހިމެނެއެވެ.
ގްރާންޓުގެ ބޭނުން:
ހޮވާލެވޭ ދިރާސާތަކަށް ޑޭޓާ އެއްކުރުމާއި، ފީލްޑް ވޯކް، ދިރާސާއަށް އެހީވުން އަދި ޝާއިޢުކުރުން ފަދަ ޚަރަދުތައް ހަމަޖެއްސުމަށް ފަންޑު ލިބޭނެއެވެ. މަސައްކަތް ނިމޭ ދިރާސާތައް 'ޕިއަރ ރިވިއު' ހެދުމަށް ފަހު، ދިރާސާވެރިންނަށް އެމްއެމްއޭގެ ރިސާޗް ކޮންފަރެންސްގައި އެމީހުންގެ ނަތީޖާ ހުށަހެޅުމުގެ ފުރުޞަތު ލިބިގެންދާނެއެވެ.
