The Ministry of Education has digitized the national academic calendar, making it accessible to parents, students, and educators via its official website. This move aims to simplify planning and ensure important school dates are easier to track.
The updated academic calendar is part of the ministry’s revamped website, launched last year, which consolidates all school-related information in a single, user-friendly platform. Available in PDF format, the calendar now clearly highlights school days, holidays, examination periods, and public holidays. This clarity helps families and teachers plan ahead without confusion.
Users can also view term-specific dates, making it easier to track the academic year at a glance. According to the new schedule:

Schools reopen on 27th January 2026.

The mid-term break runs from 24th May to 30th May.

The first term break is scheduled for 17th July to 1st August.

The second term begins on 2nd August, with a mid-term break from 13th to 19th September.

The long year-end holiday will take place from 18th December 2026 to 12th January 2027.
The redesigned calendar also distinguishes between full school days and half-days, with events like Children’s Day and Teacher’s Day now designated as half-days. This feature ensures parents and students can better organize their schedules around special occasions.
Historically, the Maldives has started its academic year in January. However, in 2021, the start was shifted to August following requests from the tourism sector and disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. This adjustment extended the academic year to one and a half years.
Following feedback from parents, the Education Ministry has decided to revert to a January start, beginning with the upcoming academic term in 2026. This change is expected to bring stability and predictability to the school calendar, aligning with traditional academic timelines.

މިދިޔަ އަހަރު ތަޢާރަފުކުރި މިނިސްޓްރީގެ އާ ވެބްސައިޓްގައި، ސްކޫލާ ގުޅުންހުރި ހުރިހާ މަޢުލޫމާތެއް އެއްތަނަކަށް އެއްކުރުމަށް ވަނީ މަސައްކަތްކޮށްފައެވެ. މިހާރު ޕީޑީއެފް ފޯމެޓުގައި ލިބެން ހުރި ތަޢުލީމީ ކަލަންޑަރުން، ސްކޫލް ހިންގާ ދުވަސްތަކާއި، ބަންދު ދުވަސްތަކާއި، އިމްތިހާނު ބާއްވާ މުއްދަތުތަކާއި، ސަރުކާރު ބަންދު ދުވަސްތައް ސާފުކޮށް ވަކިކޮށްދީފައިވުމުން، ކުރިއަށް އޮތް ކަންކަން ރޭވުމަށް އިތުރަށް ފަސޭހަވެގެން ދާނެއެވެ.
ކަލަންޑަރުން ޓާމްތަކުގެ ތާރީޚުތައް ވަކިވަކިން ބަލައިލުމުގެ ފުރުޞަތު ވެސް ލިބިގެންދާނެއެވެ. މިހާރު އާންމުކޮށްފައިވާ ތާވަލުގައިވާ ގޮތުން ސްކޫލްތައް އަލުން ހުޅުވޭނީ 27 ޖެނުއަރީ 2026 ގައެވެ.
- މިނިސްޓްރީގެ ނިންމުމަށް ބަދަލު ގެނެސްފައިވަނީ، ބެލެނިވެރިންގެ އެދުމަށް ވެސް ފުރުސަތު ދިނުމަށް ކަމަށް އެނގެއެވެ.
- ކޮވިޑް-19ގެ ސަބަބުން ކުރިމަތިވި ހުރަސްތަކާއި، ޓޫރިޒަމް ދާއިރާގެ އެދުމަށް 2021 ވަނަ އަހަރު ސްކޫލް ފެށޭ ތާރީޚު އޮގަސްޓަށް ބަދަލުކުރިއެވެ.
- ނަމަވެސް، މިނިސްޓްރީން މިހާރު ނިންމާފައިވަނީ އަލުން ކުރިއަށް އޮތް ޓާމުން ފެށިގެން ތަޢުލީމީ އަހަރު އަސްލު އޮންނަ ޖެނުއަރީ މަހަށް ބަދަލުކުރުމަށެވެ.
އަންނަ އަހަރުގެ މުހިއްމު ބަންދުތަކުގެ ތާރީޚުތައް:
- މިޑް-ޓާމް ބްރޭކް (ފުރަތަމަ ޓާމް): 24 މެއި އިން 30 މެއި 2026 އަށް.
- ފުރަތަމަ ޓާމުގެ ބަންދު: 17 ޖުލައި އިން 1 އޮގަސްޓް 2026 އަށް.
- ދެވަނަ ޓާމް ފެށުން: 2 އޮގަސްޓް 2026.
- މިޑް-ޓާމް ބްރޭކް (ދެވަނަ ޓާމް): 13 ސެޕްޓެމްބަރު އިން 19 ސެޕްޓެމްބަރު 2026 އަށް.
- އަހަރުގެ އެންމެ ދިގު ބަންދު (ޢިއްޔެ): 18 ޑިސެމްބަރު 2026 އިން 12 ޖެނުއަރީ 2027 އަށް.
