Dhiraagu has officially handed over the first of two speedboats promised under its ongoing ‘Enroll and Win 2 Speedboats’ promotion, marking a major milestone in the campaign that has attracted strong public interest.
The first winner of the promotion is Abdulla Saeed from S. Feydhoo, a long-time Dhiraagu customer. Saeed received his prize during a special handover ceremony held today at Thilafushi Boatyard, attended by Dhiraagu representatives and invited guests.
For Saeed, the win came as a pleasant surprise. A customer of Dhiraagu since 2001, he expressed his appreciation to the company for offering what he described as an exceptionally valuable and meaningful prize.
Under the promotion, Saeed was awarded an Al Shaali Marine Canary 28 sports speed launch, a high-performance vessel designed for both leisure and practical marine use. The speedboat is powered by a 250-horsepower Yamaha engine, making it well suited for Maldivian waters where speed, reliability, and durability are highly valued.
The Canary 28 model is known for its balance of comfort and performance, and prizes of this scale are rarely seen in local consumer promotions. Dhiraagu’s decision to offer fully equipped speedboats has clearly set the campaign apart from typical prize draws.
Speaking previously about the win, Saeed noted that he is considering selling the speedboat, a decision that reflects the practical choices many winners face when receiving high-value assets. Whether he keeps or sells the vessel, the prize represents a significant financial and personal gain.
While the first speedboat has now been awarded, the opportunity to win the second speedboat remains open until the end of March, giving eligible customers more time to participate.
Dhiraagu has outlined clear eligibility criteria for the promotion. Customers who qualify include:
-
Mobile Postpaid customers on packages of MVR 450 and above
-
Fixed Broadband customers subscribed to plans of 40 Mbps and above
-
Mobile Broadband or 5G Turbo customers on plans of MVR 540 and above
The promotion encourages customers to upgrade or enroll in higher-tier services, while offering a reward that resonates strongly in an island nation where boats play a central role in daily life.
Dhiraagu says the promotion has received widespread praise from customers, with many welcoming the company’s move to offer prizes that are both practical and aspirational. In a country where marine transport is essential, a speedboat is not just a luxury item but a tool that can transform mobility, business, and lifestyle.
