Maldives Ports Limited (MPL), in partnership with the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Coast Guard Training School, successfully conducted a comprehensive ‘Certificate Level 1 in Port Security Training’ programme, awarding certificates to staff who completed the course.
The 30-day training, held at Girifushi, saw 30 participants from MPL’s Security Department and regional ports in Kulhudhuffushi and Hithadhoo enhance their knowledge and practical skills in port security. The initiative reflects MPL’s ongoing commitment to maintaining high security standards at the nation’s ports.
“The programme is designed to boost the competence and readiness of our security personnel while ensuring compliance with international port security standards,” said MPL Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Rilwan during the closing ceremony at Bandaara Koshi, where certificates were presented to the graduates.
Participants engaged in a wide range of modules aimed at equipping them with critical skills for safeguarding port operations. Key areas of focus included emergency response procedures, security drills, work ethics, practical applications, port protection measures, and compliance with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code. The course also emphasized broader maritime safety and security practices.
As a culminating exercise, a live security drill was conducted at the Malé Commercial Harbour, allowing participants to apply their training in a real-world setting. The hands-on exercise reinforced key operational protocols and demonstrated the practical readiness of MPL’s security personnel.
This training programme underlines MPL’s dedication to ensuring that the country’s ports remain safe, secure, and aligned with international maritime standards.

ޖުމްލަ 30 ދުވަހުގެ މި ތަމްރީން ޕްރޮގްރާމް ކުރިއަށް ގެންގޮސްފައިވަނީ ގިރިފުށީގައެވެ. މި ކޯހުގައި އެމްޕީއެލްގެ ސެކިއުރިޓީ ޑިޕާޓްމަންޓާއި، ކުޅުދުއްފުއްޓާއި ހިތަދޫގައި ހުންނަ އެ ކުންފުނީގެ ދެ ސަރަޙައްދީ ޕޯޓުގެ ސެކިއުރިޓީ މުވައްޒަފުން ހިމެނޭ ގޮތަށް 30 ބައިވެރިއަކު ބައިވެރިވިއެވެ.
ކޯސް ނިންމުމުގެ ރަސްމިއްޔާތު ބާއްވާފައިވަނީ އިއްޔެ ބަންޑާރަކޮށްޓީގައެވެ. ކޯސް ކާމިޔާބުކުރި ބައިވެރިންނަށް ސެޓްފިކެޓް ހަވާލުކޮށްދެއްވީ އެމްޕީއެލްގެ ޗީފް އެގްޒެކެޓިވް އޮފިސަރު މުޙައްމަދު ރިލްވާނެވެ.
