The Maldives has been honored with the prestigious Best Beach Destination Award at the 2025 World Tourism Awards, held today in Brussels during the Global Tourism Forum’s (GTF) Annual Meeting.
The award was accepted on behalf of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu by his Special Envoy and former President Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan, who expressed pride and gratitude for the international recognition. “This award is a testament to the Maldives’ world-renowned white sands, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant marine life,” Dr. Waheed remarked.
The GTF Annual Meeting 2025, themed “Redefining Tourism in a Changing World”, brought together tourism leaders, policymakers, and industry experts from across the globe. Participants engaged in discussions on sustainable development, innovation, and strategies to navigate the evolving landscape of international travel.
According to the President’s Office, the Maldives continues to prioritize the protection of its pristine waters, lagoons, and diverse marine ecosystems. The nation’s dedication to environmental conservation has played a key role in establishing its reputation as a top beach destination worldwide.
As global travelers increasingly seek destinations that combine natural beauty with sustainability, the Maldives stands out as a model for responsible tourism while offering unparalleled experiences for visitors.
ބެލްޖިއަމްގެ ބްރަސަލްސްގައި މިއަދު ބޭއްވި ވޯލްޑް ޓޫރިޒަމް އެވޯޑްސް 2025 ގައި، ދުނިޔޭގެ އެންމެ ރީތި "ބީޗް ޑެސްޓިނޭޝަން"ގެ އެވޯޑު ރާއްޖެއަށް ލިބިއްޖެއެވެ.
މި އެވޯޑް ހަފުލާ ބާއްވާފައިވަނީ ގްލޯބަލް ޓޫރިޒަމް ފޯރަމް (ޖީޓީއެފް) ގެ އަހަރީ ބައްދަލުވުމުގެ ތެރެއިންނެވެ. ރައީސުލްޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާ ޑރ. މުޙައްމަދު މުޢިއްޒު ފޮނުއްވެވި ޚާއްޞަ މަންދޫބެއްގެ ހައިސިއްޔަތުން، ކުރީގެ ރައީސުލްޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާ ޑރ. މުޙައްމަދު ވަޙީދު ޙަސަން ވަނީ އެވޯޑު ބަލައިގެންފައެވެ.

ޑރ. ވަޙީދު ވަނީ މިފަދަ ބޮޑު އެވޯޑެއް ރާއްޖެއަށް ލިބުމުން ޝުކުރު އަދާކުރައްވާފައެވެ. އޭނާ ފާހަގަކުރެއްވި ގޮތުގައި، ރާއްޖޭގެ ހުދު ދޮންވެލި ތިލަތަކާއި، ސާފު ފެނާއި، ކަނޑުގެ ދިރުންތަކަށް ބައިނަލްއަޤްވާމީ ފެންވަރުގައި މި ޢިތިރާފު ލިބިގެންދިއުމަކީ ވަރަށް ބޮޑު އުފަލެކެވެ.
ޖީޓީއެފްގެ ބައްދަލުވުން:
މި އަހަރުގެ ޖީޓީއެފްގެ އަހަރީ ބައްދަލުވުން ބޭއްވުނީ "ބަދަލުވަމުންދާ ދުނިޔޭގައި ޓޫރިޒަމްގެ މާނަ އަލުން ކަނޑައެޅުން" މި ސުލޯގަންގެ ދަށުންނެވެ. މި ރަސްމިއްޔާތުގައި ދުނިޔޭގެ ޓޫރިޒަމްގެ އިސް ލީޑަރުންނާއި، ސިޔާސަތު ކަނޑައަޅުއްވާ ފަރާތްތަކާއި، މި ދާއިރާގެ ތަޖުރިބާކާރުން ބައިވެރިވެ، ޓޫރިޒަމްގެ ތަރައްޤީއާ ބެހޭ ގޮތުން މަޝްވަރާކޮށްފައި ވެއެވެ.
