President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has achieved a rare milestone, becoming the first Maldivian leader in over four decades to visit every inhabited island in the country. Completing this feat within just one year and eleven months of assuming office, President Muizzu has followed through on his pledge to connect personally with communities across the nation.
The last president to accomplish a similar tour was Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, who visited all inhabited islands between 1978 and 1983—more than 40 years ago.
President Muizzu’s visit to Thulusdhoo in Kaafu Atoll marked the completion of his nationwide tour. According to the President’s Office, this milestone means that he has now officially visited all 187 inhabited islands and every city in the Maldives during his presidency.
In addition to fulfilling this promise, the President has already returned to 63 of those islands for follow-up visits, demonstrating a continued engagement with local communities and ongoing development efforts.
Throughout his trips, President Muizzu met with island residents, council members, and members of the Women’s Development Committees (WDCs). These visits provided opportunities for direct dialogue on local needs, challenges, and priorities.
During these engagements, the President initiated numerous development projects across various islands—ranging from infrastructure and housing to utilities and social services. In several cases, he also inaugurated completed projects, underscoring his administration’s focus on tangible progress.
The President’s Office described this achievement as a “historically significant milestone” for a Maldivian head of state. It highlighted not only the record pace of the visits but also the hands-on approach to governance and national development.
By personally visiting each inhabited island, President Muizzu reinforced his commitment to an inclusive, people-centered administration—one that seeks to understand local communities firsthand and ensure that development efforts reach every corner of the Maldives.
As the administration approaches its second year in office, this achievement marks a symbolic and practical step toward strengthening unity across the scattered island nation.

މިހާތަނަށް ރާއްޖޭގެ ހުރިހާ ރަށަކަށް މިފަދަ ކުރު މުއްދަތެއްގެ ތެރޭގައި ޒިޔާރަތްކުރެއްވި ދެވަނަ ވެރިޔަކީ ރައީސް މުޢިއްޒުއެވެ. މީގެ ކުރިން މިފަދަ ކުރު މުއްދަތެއްގައި ހުރިހާ ރަށަކަށް ޒިޔާރަތްކުރެއްވީ 42 އަހަރު ކުރިން، 1978 އާއި 1983 އާ ދެމެދު ރައީސް މައުމޫން ޢަބްދުލްޤައްޔޫމެވެ.
ތުޅާދޫއަށް ޒިޔާރަތްކުރެއްވުމުން މަސައްކަތް ނިމުނީ
ރައީސް މުޢިއްޒު މިވަގުތު ކުރިއަށް ގެންދަވާ ޅ. އާއި ކ. އަތޮޅަށް ކުރައްވާ ދަތުރުފުޅުގައި މިއަދު މެންދުރުފަހު ކ. ތުޅާދޫއަށް ޒިޔާރަތްކުރެއްވުމާއެކު، އެމަނިކުފާނުގެ ރިޔާސީ ދައުރުގައި މަދުވެގެން ދެ ފަހަރު ހުރިހާ ރަށަކަށް ޒިޔާރަތްކުރެއްވުމަށް ވެވަޑައިގެންފައިވާ ވަޢުދު ފުއްދެވުމުގެ މަސައްކަތް ފެށުނީއެވެ.
ރައީސް އޮފީހުން ބުނި ގޮތުގައި، ތުޅާދޫއަށް ކުރެއްވި ޒިޔާރަތާއެކު ރައީސް މުޢިއްޒު ވަނީ ރާއްޖޭގެ 187 އާބާދީ ބޮޑެތި ރަށްތަކާއި، ހުރިހާ ސިޓީތަކަށް ރަސްމީ ހައިސިއްޔަތުން ޒިޔާރަތްކުރައްވައިފައެވެ. 1 އަހަރާއި 11 މަސް ދުވަހުގެ ތެރޭގައި އެމަނިކުފާނު ވަނީ ހުރިހާ ރަށަކަށް އެއްފަހަރު ޒިޔާރަތްކުރެއްވުމުގެ އިތުރުން، އޭގެ ތެރެއިން 63 ރަށަށް ދެވަނަ ފަހަރަށް ޒިޔާރަތްކުރައްވައިފައެވެ.
ޒިޔާރަތްތަކުގެ މަޤްޞަދު:
ރައީސް އޮފީހުން ފާހަގަކުރެއްވި ގޮތުގައި، ރައީސް މުޢިއްޒު މި ދަތުރުފުޅުތަކުގައި ކޮންމެ ރަށެއްގެ ރައްޔިތުންނާ ބައްދަލުކުރައްވައި، ކައުންސިލްތަކުގެ އިސްވެރިންނާއި އަންހެނުންގެ ތަރައްޤީއަށް މަސައްކަތްކުރާ ކޮމިޓީތަކާ ވެސް ބައްދަލުކުރެއްވިއެވެ. މީގެ އިތުރުން ކޮންމެ ރަށެއްގައި ތަރައްޤީގެ މަޝްރޫޢުތައް ފައްޓަވައި، ނިމިފައިވާ މަޝްރޫޢުތައް ރަސްމީކޮށް ހުޅުއްވައިދެއްވިއެވެ.
ރައީސް އޮފީހުން ވިދާޅުވީ، މިފަދަ ކުރު މުއްދަތެއްގެ ތެރޭގައި ރާއްޖޭގެ ހުރިހާ ރަށަކަށް ޒިޔާރަތްކުރައްވައި، ތަރައްޤީގެ މަޝްރޫޢުތައް ފަށްޓަވައި، ރައްޔިތުންނާ ބައްދަލުކުރެއްވުމަކީ ދިވެހި ދައުލަތުގެ ވެރިޔަކު ހޯއްދެވި ތާރީޚީ ކާމިޔާބީއެއް ކަމުގައެވެ.
