More than 500 hopeful applicants turned up for a walk-in interview organized by Maldives Immigration on Monday, competing for just 70 trainee positions as immigration officers.
The recruitment event, held at Salahuddin School in Hulhumalé Phase II, drew a large crowd of young job seekers eager to join one of the country’s key frontline agencies. According to Maldives Immigration, the walk-in format allowed candidates to submit their applications and participate in interviews on the same day, ensuring a transparent and efficient process.
Applicants were required to bring a completed application form, curriculum vitae, a copy of their national ID card, and educational certificates. The opportunity was open exclusively to youth under the age of 30 — part of an ongoing effort to encourage greater youth participation in public service careers.
The immigration officer trainee position offers a basic monthly salary of MVR 6,500, along with a service allowance of MVR 1,500. Upon successful completion of basic training, recruits will also qualify for a special service allowance equal to 35 percent of their salary, adding a further incentive for young professionals looking to build a career in the sector.
Officials noted that new officers will undergo structured training designed to prepare them for the demands of border management, passport control, and related administrative duties.
This is the second recruitment campaign by Maldives Immigration in 2025. The first, held on May 25, offered 50 officer positions and saw an even higher turnout — a remarkable 876 applicants.

މި ވަޒީފާތަކަށް މީހުން ހޮވުމުގެ ހަރަކާތް ކުރިއަށް ގެންގޮސްފައިވަނީ ހުޅުމާލެ ފޭސް ދޭއްގައި ހުންނަ ޞަލާޙުއްދީން ސްކޫލްގައެވެ.
އިމިގްރޭޝަނުން ބުނި ގޮތުގައި، މި ފުރުޞަތު ހުޅުވާލާފައިވަނީ 30 އަހަރުން ދަށުގެ ޒުވާނުންނަށެވެ. ފޯމު ހުށަހެޅި ފަރާތްތަކުން ވަނީ ފުރިހަމަކޮށްފައިވާ އެޕްލިކޭޝަން ފޯމާއި، ސީވީ، ގައުމީ ދިވެހި އައިޑީ ކާޑުގެ ކޮޕީ އަދި ތަޢުލީމީ ސެޓްފިކެޓުތައް ހުށަހަޅާފައެވެ.
ވަޒީފާގެ މުސާރަ އަދި އިނާޔަތްތައް:
މި މަޤާމުގެ އަސާސީ މުސާރައަކީ މަހަކު 6,500 ރުފިޔާ އެވެ. މީގެ އިތުރުން 1,500 ރުފިޔާގެ ސަރވިސް އެލަވަންސެއް ލިބޭނެއެވެ.
މަސައްކަތަށް ނުކުތުމުގެ ކުރިން ފުރިހަމަ ކުރަންޖެހޭ އަސާސީ ތަމްރީނު ނިންމާލުމަށް ފަހު، މި މަޤާމަށް ހޮވޭ ފަރާތްތަކަށް މުސާރައިގެ 35 އިންސައްތައަށް ހަމަވާ ޚާއްސަ ސަރވިސް އެލަވަންސެއް ވެސް ލިބިގެންދާނެއެވެ.
މިއީ މި އަހަރު މޯލްޑިވްސް އިމިގްރޭޝަނުން ބޭއްވި ދެވަނަ ވޯކް-އިން އިންޓަވިއުއެވެ. މިދިޔަ މެއި މަހުގެ 25 ވަނަ ދުވަހު 50 އޮފިސަރުގެ މަޤާމަށް މީހުން ހޯދުމަށް ބޭއްވި ފުރަތަމަ ވޯކް-އިން އިންޓަވިއުއަށް 876 ފަރާތަކުން ހާޒިރުވެފައިވެއެވެ.
