IGMH Opens Applications for 55 Patient Support Coordinators to Improve Hospital Experience
The Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has introduced a new frontline role aimed at improving the hospital experience for patients and their families. In an announcement this week, IGMH said it is hiring 55 Patient Support Coordinators, who will serve as liaisons between patients and hospital staff across several healthcare facilities in the Greater Malé region.
A Warm Welcome at the Hospital Door
The new coordinators will be stationed at IGMH, Dharumavantha Hospital, Hulhumale’ Hospital, Vilingili Hospital, and the Maldives Blood Service. Their main responsibility is to greet patients and their caregivers as they enter the facility, offer guidance, and provide clear information about available services.
IGMH stated that interviews for the positions will begin on July 25 and continue through July 30, while the deadline to submit applications is 2 PM on July 29.
What Does the Job Involve?
The Patient Support Coordinator role is designed to ease the stress and confusion many patients feel when visiting a hospital. Responsibilities include:

Who Can Apply?
Applicants must have completed at least Grade 7 or Grade 10, along with a minimum of four years of work experience in a related field. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also essential, given the nature of the work.
